About Cookies
Cookies are small text files saved by a website in your browser. ContractMetric also uses browser storage, such as local storage and session storage, for limited settings. In this policy, we refer to all of these as “cookies” unless a distinction is useful.
This policy applies to the ContractMetric public website and authenticated company platform. Cookies do not read the contents of contracts stored elsewhere on your device.
How We Use Cookies
ContractMetric uses cookies and similar technologies to:
- Keep users signed in to the correct company workspace.
- Protect forms and account actions against forged or unauthorized requests.
- Support email verification, two-factor authentication, and subscription access.
- Remember selected language and limited interface or workflow settings.
- Preserve temporary state while a contract is uploaded or analyzed.
- Measure website or feature usage and diagnose errors if optional analytics tools are enabled.
Types of Cookies
The cookies used by ContractMetric fall into the following categories:
Exact cookie names and expiry periods can vary by deployment, browser, and security configuration. You can inspect currently stored cookies through your browser's privacy or developer settings.
Essential Cookies
Essential cookies connect browser requests to an authenticated session, protect submitted forms, retain temporary security state, and confirm access to company and subscription features.
These cookies are set because they are necessary to deliver the service you request, rather than for advertising. They cannot be disabled through an optional-cookie preference tool. Blocking them in your browser may prevent sign-in, contract uploads, payments, or other account actions from working correctly.
Analytics Cookies
If ContractMetric enables an analytics service, and after obtaining consent where required, analytics cookies may help us understand visits, navigation paths, device and browser categories, errors, and which product features are used.
Analytics tools are intended to measure service usage and performance. They are not intended to read or analyze the contents of uploaded contracts. If no optional analytics service is enabled for your deployment, no analytics cookies will be set by ContractMetric.
Third-Party Technologies
ContractMetric may redirect you to or embed functionality from service providers used for subscription payments, authentication, support, or media. For example, a payment provider may use its own cookies when you open or approve a checkout flow.
Third-party cookies are controlled by the relevant provider and are governed by that provider's privacy and cookie notices. ContractMetric does not control the lifetime of cookies set on a third party's own website.
Your Choices
You can manage optional cookies through any consent controls displayed by ContractMetric and can manage all cookies through your browser. Most browsers allow you to:
- View and delete cookies and site data.
- Block all cookies or cookies from selected websites.
- Clear cookies automatically when the browser closes.
- Limit third-party or cross-site tracking.
- Clear local and session storage for ContractMetric.
Deleting essential cookies will sign you out or reset temporary security state. Deleting preference storage may reset your language or interface choices. Blocking optional analytics should not prevent access to core ContractMetric features.
Cookie Retention
Session and security cookies expire according to the active ContractMetric deployment's session configuration or when they are invalidated, such as after sign-out. Browser storage can remain until it is replaced, cleared by the application, or deleted through your browser.
Optional third-party cookies follow the retention period selected by the applicable provider. We aim to configure cookies for no longer than reasonably necessary for their stated purpose and review the technologies used as the service changes.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when ContractMetric changes its authentication, preference, analytics, payment, or other browser technologies. We will publish the revised policy here and update the “Last updated” date. Where required, we will request consent before using a new category of non-essential cookies.
